About the Authors

Jackie A. Smith has a Ph.D. degree in health education. Her early experience as a babysitter helped identify the need for quality instruction for young babysitters. She has worked with hundreds of children, teaching swimming, water safety, and child tending. She has been certified by the American Red Cross to teach advanced first aid, home nursing, preparation for parenthood, and mother/baby care. Dr. Smith is a professor (clinical) in the College of Nursing, University of Utah.

Linda P. Christensen is a freelance writer with a diversity of styles and audiences. Her creative writing has been published nationally and internationally in youth and specialty magazines. Her vast experience spans many years as a copywriter, advertising executive, and editor. She holds a bachelor's degree in communications. Mrs. Christensen's love for children and creativity combine to make this book an exciting learning experience for young readers.
